There have been s↕↔÷ome times in the past when warranty ✔↑<αwas slightly complicated for HIFIMAN t★±∞oo, but as they grew,πΩ€ they can now offer the level 'β±of support expected w $±hen purchasing a high-end flagsh¥"♦ip headphone. I like the fact that HIFIMAN didn’t cλ¶'heap on the package of DEVA Pro, compared to the packag>'e of the original DEVA.
In fact, they includ★α•↔e all of the basic necessities'ε←π for using DEVA Pro, the Bluemini R2R Himalaya Bluetooth →ε£$receiver, cables to use them wi♥"red, charging cable for the mini blue tooth receiver, and crispy paperwork↓>£÷. The headphones are a'→lso seated and presented nicely, in"< a silk-like material and spong∞✘e to keep them safe.

DEVA Pro is a whole new level of headphone, p↑®™lanar magnetic and bluetooth enab ✘Ωled, better than the origina'©✔l DEVA, and surely better than the HE400SE and Sundara it is made to compete with. I≥♦n fact, throughout the entire midrang₽©e category, no headphone ↕>comes with a bluetooth amplifier as goo↑♥d as DEVA Pro. As we will see, this also leads to ♦$£ a disadvantage with DEVA Pro, but first, let’s explore the₽Ωσ headphones.
HIFIMAN went with a more color ne™©™utral approach for DEVA Pro, with a silver and bl←∑ack color scheme, making DEVA Pro sleeker and more eleg ♠§ant than the original DEVA. They also made DEVA Pro better built than t↓♣he original DEVA, and where the original felt a b♦✔•it plasticky, the PRO va≈✔•riant feels full metallic ©₩δ↓and better built. HI∑δ≠αFIMAN didn’t change the overall specifi₹π®cations, and both have an 18 OHM imped★βance, along with an extremely∑φ low SPL of 93.5 dB, m™γ'✔aking both the origina↑£§l DEVA and DEVA Pro hard to drive. The γ<Bluetooth connection stability of the★&₩♠ Bluemini is excellent, to the poin₩™↓ t where doing my usual ☆✘×&test, placing the smartphoneΩ÷δ♠ in a backpack, and covering it i±✘™✔n a few blankets, or±∞ palming it, results in still a strong♦® connection.

Both the original and the new DEVA Pro have support for LDAC, aptX HD, aptX,π≥± AAC and SBC, but the ne♥★w Himalaya Bluemini R2R Reφ↑₩πceiver has vastly better overall sp→₽ecifications than theσ"≈ original Bluemini. We’re ta$ lking about a -120dB ≥§≠₽SNR for the DAC, a THD o'♥™f 0.0022, and an energ±☆★y efficiency of 20mW. What thiφ$£™s means is that the new Bluemin★☆£®i R2R consumes very little, ®₽brings very clean and clear sound, and☆¶ has the same shape and ergonomics a£ ¶ s the original bluemini. For phon≈$e calls, Bluemini has a backgroun✘§d hiss that’s audible sometimes, and yo•♦φu can use the button to end a call, foλ r pressing play or pause during™¶ song playback. The same hiss is auα•$≤dible while the turn on / turn off λ≥voice speaks, but it is not audi§×ble during music playback at a←ll, Bluemini being not on¥ly perfectly capable of driving♠ DEVA Pro but having extremel≤πy low noise, great cont"★rol and overall sonic q™¥∞§uality.
HIFIMAN kept the USB ∑φα≠DAC function for the Himalaya B↓εluemini R2R, and we can still use it ₽≠ cabled, via Bluetoothγ' to power DEVA Pro, and DEVA Pro can take both two TRS 3.5mm c×÷☆ables, or one TRRS 3.5mm cable in ¶its left earcup (this is extrem©∞≤±ely rare though, you’ll need ≤₩§¶a custom 3.5mm TRRS cable mad$✘>e for them). The new R2R Blu★©βemini also has exceptional batte ®•£ry life, of about 8 ↕απhours on paper and 6 ho♦→urs tested by me, at loud to"♦ very loud volumes, aptX, LDAC, and so≠§me phone talk. The new blue minα↕i module has a microphone∑₹ as well, and it can be used to take p £↕hone calls, having one €≠ of the best phone qualiγλ>ties for the microphon≈©>e, although it doesn’t have a good✘δ♣← noise cancelling algorithm, so wi™₽nd noise will be audible. DEVA Pro being open, I suspect y∞₽®ou won’t be using them where there↕↔’s windy weather or lots of ↓Ωφnoise anyways. The R2R Bluemini R☆δ eceiver always runs in balance↕×d TRRS 3.5mm, and you need t₽>o make sure that you al εways connect it to the le →♦'ft earcup, otherwise you might shor¥"t it out.

At the headphone level™☆→, DEVA Pro is extremely comfortable, lightweiπ§σεght, and a pleasure to wear. They a ∏☆re lighter than most→δ flagships, lighter than Audeze LCD-2C♣≥₽, lighter than Verum One MK2, and they’re as comfortable as the o$≠εriginal DEVA, more comfortable than Sundara. The only headphone I reviewed that i"≈s more comfortable than DEVA Pro by a good margin is HIFIMAN’s Arya Stealth, which has larger ear&∏'pads, slightly less clamping force, aλ≠nd a looser fit. The normal cable♣' for using them is fl" φ€exible, and of a really good quality. Fσ₽>eels more reliable than the cable that ™HE400SE comes with.
The review has the wor₹≠d Stealth in the title,→∞ because DEVA Pro uses the new HIFIMAN Technology for th♥ ∏Ωeir drivers, also seen in my review∞¥ of the HIFIMAN Arya Stealth, techn∏¶₽ology which makes the m 'agnets invisible to sound. Basically↓§β₩, the new way the magnets are designedγ★β± allows for sonic waves to pass ©♦γthrough them without generating inteקrference, leading to a mo∏♥re clean overall sound.÷ "♥ We will see below if≠→ it works as intended, in π↔the sound quality part ®φof today’s review.

Sound Quality
I usually leave the pairings part ∑of a review for the Build Quality, o∑ ©r I make a different part σ✘≠about pairing, but HIFIMAN DEVA Pro is unique in this aspect, as it c☆¥"omes with the Bluemini that it is ©✔supposed to be used with. This ¥←means both that it sou★$₽↔nds quite great with it, but δ☆£λalso that you may end ÷₽®εup always using it w≥÷ireless. Even using high-e φ♦nd DAPs like iBasso DX300, Astell & Kern SE180, Lotoo PAW 6000 and Desktop sources ☆♥¶like Cyrus One Cast and Violectric HPA V340, I still find the Blue★∏mini enjoyable, and almost i÷≠αn line with all the other β↑∑high-end sources. HIFIMAN ∑↔really optimised the bluetooth recε →eiver to give an impr₩≥essive sonic performance wit≥®π₽h DEVA Pro, and they didn’t fail to deliver ∞§←. DEVA Pro is hard to drive and needs ¥πhigh-end sources to sound t"↔ heir best. No smartphone will₩ be able to drive it pr>©<operly, and most entry-level p λortables as well as smartp↕↕¶hones won’t get them very ←<loud.
With all of that out ♦βof the way, I’ve used DAPs and hσ✘igh-end sources half of the time, and€★★↓ the Bluemini half of the tγ≈>∏ime for taking the sound quality notes, €<÷ and to keep things fair. The ove✘£®✔rall sonic presentation can b>™e described as lightwei×★ ↓ght, impactful, wide and w÷₽±ell separated, neutr₩∏→al-natural in tuning, with grea£☆t extension in both the treble an§≈✘♦d the bass, and with an amoun×₽γ→t of warmth in the midra☆"™nge.

The treble is forgiv§↓ing, well extended, sligh &©tly bright in tonality, and also n★λatural in texture.
